The stuff people actually ask.
Do I own the website after I pay it off?
Yes — always. The build fee transfers ownership of the site, code, and content to you. The monthly care plan covers hosting, security, and ongoing work, but you can take the site elsewhere any time. We hand over a clean export and DNS guide.
What happens if I cancel the monthly care plan?
You keep the site. We hand off the code, transfer the domain to a host of your choice, and walk you through the move. After that, you're on your own — no more updates, edits, or support from us. Most clients stay because the alternative is their nephew quoting them $200 to fix a broken contact form.
Is there a discount if I pay for the year up front?
Yes. Pay 12 months of your care plan up front and you save 10% — that's $1,609/year on Starter (instead of $1,788) or $2,700/year on Studio (instead of $3,000). The build fee is separate and can still be paid upfront or financed. Annual billing is the cheapest way to run with us, and it locks your rate for the year.
How does financing work?
On Starter and Studio, you can split the build fee into 12 monthly payments instead of paying it upfront. The monthly care plan runs in parallel — so your total during the first year is the financed build plus your care plan. On Starter that's $150/mo for the build + $149/mo care = $299/mo for the first 12 months, then drops to $149/mo. On Studio it's $300/mo + $250/mo = $550/mo for the first 12 months, then drops to $250/mo. Financing is handled through a third-party partner so we get paid upfront and you get a fair payment plan.
Why a 50/50 deposit on the standard deal?
Industry standard for design and development work. Half upfront covers the discovery, design, and initial build. Half on launch covers final QA and migration. If you need a different split for cashflow reasons, we'll work with you — just ask.
Are there hidden fees, change orders, or surprise upsells?
No. The build fee is fixed against a written scope. If you ask for something outside that scope mid-project, we'll quote it before we touch it — you decide whether to add it. The monthly fee is fixed too. We don't quietly raise prices or sneak in 'rate adjustments.'
Can I upgrade later if my business grows?
Yes — upgrades are how most of our clients evolve. Start at Starter, move to Studio when you're ready for content marketing, move to Custom when you need real AI automations. The build fee for upgrades is prorated against what you've already paid.
What if I just need a simple site and no monthly?
We don't ship sites we don't support — that's a hard rule. A site without ongoing care is a site that breaks, gets hacked, or goes stale. If you want a one-and-done site with no relationship, you're better off on Squarespace. We're happy to recommend that path honestly.
